Torrox

Torrox is located approx. 50 km east of Malaga and only a few kilometers from the coast. The city is characterized by its old part of town, with narrow and steep streets, and is definitely worth a visit. You will find the old black dressed women shopping in small shops while the men are discussing at the city's charming square. You will find nice bars and restaurants from where you can look at the busy town life.

Torrox is a very old city, app. 2000 years and the town has preserved its original character. The inhabitants are very fond of the old traditions and Torrox brags of having the best climate in Europe.

Torrox consists as several other cities east of Malaga, of several parts. You find the original town of Torrox Pueblo located a few kilometers from the coast, with the very charming whitewashed houses and colorful flowers hanging from balconies or placed in pots in the streets or on the house walls, which decorate the urban landscape enormous. There are also Torrox Costa, located at the coast and the Mediterranean. Torrox Costa has become a very popular resort for many reasons. The town is located approx. 50 km. east of Malaga, and is a modern city with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, etc. In addition Torrox is situated between many attractions and is neighboring town to Nerja which is very well known because of  the large dripstone caves, found in the 1960s. Torrox is used to having tourists, which is reflected in the local population which speaks more language as ex. English and German, than you can see elsewhere in Spain.
